Its no secret that ‘Jurassic World’, the fourth film in ‘Jurassic park’ frachise made tons of money and it has officially revitalized the franchise.
Though it had a fair share of its flaws, ‘Juassic world’ was high on fun, thrill, awe and sheer nostalgia quotient. But after all is said and done, the movie had one scene which has become or atleast is making its way towards becoming one of iconic movie moments, it’s this scene…
Before the release of the film, fans and audience became skeptical as the trailers showed chris pratt’s owen grady training a bunch of velociraptors and leading the velociraptors into jungle riding a bike. The scenes started all types of questions and skepticism as apparently the terrifying and smart raptors were turned into pets.
After watching trailers and taking part in counless debates over the ‘raptor scene’ and the movie over-all, Fans and audience took their seats in theatres, put on their 3-D glasses and watched in awe as they witnessed The ‘park’ finally finally .Then the scene started playing out as a worker fell into the raptor paddock accidently and as owen grady rushed in front of the raptors to rescue him. The tension in that moment is nail-biting, edge of the seat at its best. Weather you loved the movie or you didnt (why-o-why??), you got to agree that the raptor scene’ is memorable. The scene does a great job of balancing act as it succeds in both keeping the ‘smart-terror-inducing creatures’ image of velociraptors and making us believe they can be trained on the basis of ‘mutual respect’ while keeping us from asking the questions such as why the paddock isnt closed from upper side.
Way to go…
After leaving the theatre after watching ‘jurassic world’, we took home this scene with us. To prove the point I give you some of the countless imitations it spawned, from the zookeepers who found the theme of ‘mutual respect’ resonating to the ‘Avengers’ edited version which was even shared by robert Downey Jr himself or from the kid ‘raptor-training’ his toys to Chris pratt ‘raptor-training’ kids during visit to a chilren’s hospital. Check them out.
Do you agree that the scene has become iconic?
